Distraction

Our pursuit of pleasure is, in most instances, a distraction.  It isn’t so much about enjoyment as it is about inducing a loss of consciousness and numbing our senses to the life we are living and the world in which we live it.  The pursuit of pleasure renders us unaware of our deep desires which are being unmet.

How many of my interests are merely distractions I wonder…
